The GOOD, but not the bad or the ugly.

Look at me posting two days in a row! Just who do I think I am?!? Motivated. I am motivated. To be more positive in my thinking. Sure, call it denial. Today, it's working for me.

Jenn, over at Coffee On the Porch With Me got my optimistic ball rolling by posting  some wonderful pictures of her garden recently. My old Blog buddy Cro often does this as well on his space, Magnons Meanderings, as does Kev at An English Homestead. Even Rain who has only a rental property to work with rocks it with her container gardening on her blog Rain's Garden.

For even more fantastic garden photos be sure to check out Two Men and a Little Farm (Thursdays! I love visiting him on Thursday!) and finally the amazing photographer behind A Brit in Tennessee. I wish I had her eye, her camera, her gardens.

They, and so many others I follow, have inspired me today to post some pleasant pictures of our Poor Farm instead of the usual barn rubble piles, cracked earth, clay bogged fields and other challenges. I think the recent rain has softened my brain as well as the soil. Here goes. No words, just garden photos all taken recently.  Have a fabulous day!

  1. You've captured something I needed in my day today....peace and serenity.
Inspiring pictures that remind us to enjoy the surrounding beauty, and take better care of this planet we call "home".
Thank you for the kindest compliment, I'm humbled dear friend.
    Hugs,
    ~Jo

  2. Thank you for the mention! I love your foxgloves - I only had a good bunch of them one year - they were spectacular, but never again for some reason. (I know they are biennials, but I have purchased more plants, still no luck). I think gardeners sometimes have a tendency to see their weeds, rather than their flowers. -Jenn

    1. Truth be told this is my THIRD go round with the foxgloves. I plant them in different areas each year but never see them again. Maybe this time they will stick!

  5. I love those 'white' foxgloves. Everything looks great, filled with things than mean something and not trinkets from the garden centre!

    1. Yes, Cro, I love to use the inventory we already have on the farm. It's already rusted and antiqued via Mummy Nature. Lots cheaper too. We have some 50 year old wooden ladders I'll be putting up for a morning glory trellis soon. As soon as I can pry them out of Keith's hidden stash.

    1. It is an outhouse! Our oldest son built it for us three Christmas's ago. It has a composting toilet inside because our county does not allow just good old holes in the ground.

  9. OH MY GOSH!!! (thanks for the shout out). What wonderful photos, just beautiful!!!! Some of them look like postcards. OK I have to admit, I love the outhouse, ha! Our property is large enough that I've kind of thought about one further away from the house (one our someday list). I never thought about a composting toilet inside, that's not a bad idea. Great pics!!

Comments are good, as long as you're a real person and not some goof telling me how you were cured of hepatitis by snorting a pulverized neon blue crayon. Your comments don't even have to agree with my viewpoint, I love a good discussion, but civility does matter.
